HCM City gets toned, American-style
US fitness centre, California Wow Xperience (CWX), is to open a new branch in Vietnam this December.

The 3, 800 sq.m centre, valued at US$5mil, will be located in the Hung Vuong plaza building in District 5, HCM City.

CWX foreign experts will come to Vietnam as instructors, including Srinivas Suresh Kamal, the star of the popular "Yoga For All" TV programme and leader of Planet Yoga of CMX.

CWX is a well-known fitness brand in the US, Canada and Asian countries and territories such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, and Thailand.

Sri. Srinivas Suresh Kamal, leader of the worldwide fitness center California Wow Xperience’s Planet Yoga, says doing exercise or playing sports help people live healthier and longer lives as well as maintain physical beauty and strength.

"Many people in urban areas often work in a room with air conditioners. They also face environmental pollution and sound problems. Practicing yoga is very important for their health," said Kamal, who has 20 years of experience in yoga.

His TV programme called Yoga for All is popular among yoga fans around the world.

Kamal believes doing exercise and yoga can help maintain youth and beauty. "In my view, people are old when they reach 100," he said.

Kamal arrived in HCM City last week to introduce his training course at California Wow Xperience Viet Nam, the city’s largest fitness centre.

Located in District 5’s Hung Vuong Plaza, the US$5 million centre, which opens in December, offers a professional staff of more than 50 fitness instructors who will guide customers in exercise, cycling, yoga, weight training and swimming. The membership fee will be US$600 for a year or at least $50 per month.

"After China and Thailand, Viet Nam is one of our promising markets. We plan to open another 12 centres in big cities in the next three years with a total investment of $50 million," said Eric Levine, founder of California Wow.
